Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Lemi İklim made the kick off and thus started the match. After 7 played minutes, Arakli SK's Çağdaş Mikail shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Muhsin Koray came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Arakli SK reached it. Fazıl Hüsnü Benlioğlu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lemi İklim, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, Bayındır Mehmet Çavas managed to get in a good position for a shot. GÖZTEPE's supporters rose to their feet, but Bayındır Mehmet Çavas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fazıl Hüsnü Benlioğlu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Özdemir Özbay fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Muhsin Koray having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ali Nabi İlter in the 20th minute of play forced GÖZTEPE's goalkeeper Muhsin Koray to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 21st match minute, Arakli SK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fadıl Taşkınay to maneuver through the defense. 23 minutes into the match, Bayındır Mehmet Çavas had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Fazıl Hüsnü Benlioğlu. Arakli SK's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Bayındır Mehmet Çavas was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. 28 minutes into the match, Arakli SK's goal looked a bit too open when Lemi İklim came free, but Fazıl Hüsnü Benlioğlu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ali Nabi İlter received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Muhsin Koray tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 34 minutes into the match, GÖZTEPE's goalkeeper Muhsin Koray had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ali Nabi İlter. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ulaş Muhtar during the 35th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Arakli SK booed when GÖZTEPE was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ulaş Muhtar didn't get a good kick on the ball. Özdemir Özbay recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 38th minute, Özkan Dağdelen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Ali Nabi İlter had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Muhsin Koray showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Özdemir Özbay, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

After a defensive mix-up in GÖZTEPE's zone, Ali Nabi İlter stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Muhsin Koray came out of the goal and Ali Nabi İlter tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 58th minute, Özkan Dağdelen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 60th minute Özdemir Özbay shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Muhsin Koray saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 63 minutes into the match, GÖZTEPE's goal looked a bit too open when Ali Nabi İlter came free, but Muhsin Koray reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ali Nabi İlter in the 69th minute of play forced GÖZTEPE's goalkeeper Muhsin Koray to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 91 minutes, Özdemir Özbay managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Arakli SK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Özdemir Özbay was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
