Zaid Tolgunay sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 5 minutes into the match, Şansal Doğulu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Kuddusî Üstündağ. Mardin's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Şansal Doğulu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. 10 minutes into the game, Nazilli's Zaid Tolgunay nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Kuddusî Üstündağ made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Sancar Kutuner might have been able to make a better finish in the 13th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Songurbey Keçeci. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sancar Kutuner ran back to his position shaking his head. A collision led to Nazilli getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. kaya Akkuş hit a great ball. Kuddusî Üstündağ made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Şansal Doğulu in the 18th minute of play. After 20 played minutes Nazilli got a freekick which was hit by Hakkı Özgur. 22 minutes into the match, Mardin's goal looked a bit too open when Zaid Tolgunay came free, but Kuddusî Üstündağ reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sancar Kutuner in the 24th minute of play forced Nazilli's goalkeeper Songurbey Keçeci to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hakkı Özgur recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 39th match minute, Mardin was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mehmet Akif Buyrukalp to maneuver through the defense. 40 minutes into the match, Mardin's goal looked a bit too open when Zaid Tolgunay came free, but Kuddusî Üstündağ reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Sancar Kutuner was the one to do the kick off. Şansal Doğulu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kuddusî Üstündağ having to interfere. Şansal Doğulu was extremely unlucky when he, in the 64th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Kuddusî Üstündağ made a fantastic save in the 65th minute, when Zaid Tolgunay sent off a good shot on target. In the 72nd minute, Şansal Doğulu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Songurbey Keçeci made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sancar Kutuner in the 81st minute of play. 83 minutes into the game, Zaid Tolgunay cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-4. Kuddusî Üstündağ was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 86 minutes, Seyhan Arkan mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Nazilli and the Mardin players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Nazilli's Seyhan Arkan got a free kick in the 87th minute. Zaid Tolgunay could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 92nd minute of the match, but Kuddusî Üstündağ made a huge save. Şansal Doğulu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kuddusî Üstündağ having to interfere. A collision led to Mardin getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Ahmet Çağrı Aksungur hit a great ball. Nazilli's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
