In the 11th minute of the match Lütfullah Onural sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Bedirhan Adanır skillfully saved the ball. When Armağan Kaçan fell near the penalty area in the 11th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gürün SK's protests and gave Armağan Kaçan a yellow card for diving instead. In the 12th minute, Armağan Kaçan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Gürün SK's Armağan Kaçan got a free kick in the 16th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Songurhan Başkaya got free with Güner Gülerce in the 19th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Hüsnü Acaroğlu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Bedirhan Adanır tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 47 played minutes, Yildirim SK's Lemi Kirtekin shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Bedirhan Adanır came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Yildirim SK reached it. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Songurhan Başkaya to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Yildirim SK booed when Gürün SK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alkan Enfa didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hüsnü Acaroğlu in the 60th minute of play forced Gürün SK's goalkeeper Bedirhan Adanır to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Songurhan Başkaya recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Bedirhan Adanır was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Hüsnü Acaroğlu showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-1 in the 64 minute of play. The supporters of Gürün SK booed when Yildirim SK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lemi Kirtekin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Karhan Özkul kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. In the 74th minute, Songurhan Başkaya got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Hüseyin Can İhtişam came up free with the goalie in the 77th minute, the Gürün SK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hüseyin Can İhtişam couldn't finish the play. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Gürün SK fully deserved thier win.
