With his leg Şerafettin İlhanoğlu managed to avoid a goal in the 26thth minute, when Iskilip UTD's Atakan Erandaç fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Oğuzer Demircioğlu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Atalay Urangu, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. Haluk Nurdag sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Mersin's Şerafettin İlhanoğlu got control of the ball when Atakan Erandaç tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the match had gone on for 34 minutes, Behçet Bayer took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Şerafettin İlhanoğlu to make any attempt to save it. If Ahmet Vefik Açar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Iskilip UTD booed when Mersin was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Haluk Nurdag didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Mersin's zone, Hıncal Ülküsel stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Şerafettin İlhanoğlu came out of the goal and Hıncal Ülküsel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Behçet Bayer was the one to do the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Behçet Bayer managed to get in a good position for a shot. Iskilip UTD's supporters rose to their feet, but Behçet Bayer was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Şerafettin İlhanoğlu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Oğuzer Demircioğlu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Haluk Nurdag in the 60th minute of play. Iskilip UTD's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ahmet Vefik Açar was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Atakan Erandaç during the 87th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Ahmet Vefik Açar could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 95th minute of the match, but Oğuzer Demircioğlu made a huge save. Behçet Bayer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 99th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Şerafettin İlhanoğlu having to interfere. The Mersin players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Iskilip UTD from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
