After some careless play in the Gerze defense, Gökhun Yöntem kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ali Galip Koralp. The Gerze fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ali Galip Koralp should have stopped the shot. Yalçın Taymaz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Talip Cevan in the 9th minute of play. The supporters of Kelkit booed when Gerze was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ahmet Refik Umar didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ali Galip Koralp took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arman Ilıcak, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 14th minute, Zafer Bekdil hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 20 minutes into the game, Kelkit's Gökhun Yöntem nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ali Galip Koralp made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Gökhun Yöntem kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Gerze's Zafer Bekdil got a free kick in the 33rd minute. Ali Galip Koralp showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arman Ilıcak in the 34th minute of the match. Kelkit's Yalçın Taymaz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Armağan Münib in the 36th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Gerze's zone, Arman Ilıcak stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ali Galip Koralp came out of the goal and Arman Ilıcak tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Arman Ilıcak struck a weak shot in the 42nd minute. Ali Galip Koralp didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Kelkit. In the 47th minute, Kelkit's Baransel Tokuz ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Ali Galip Koralp. Ali Galip Koralp yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Arman Ilıcak made a kick off. 56 minutes into the match, Arman Ilıcak notched a goal, 4-0, to the right of Gerze's Ali Galip Koralp. Ali Galip Koralp was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The audience thought a goal was coming when Armağan Münib got free with Yalçın Taymaz in the 62nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ali Galip Koralp showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gökhun Yöntem in the 65th minute of the match. Talip Cevan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Yalçın Taymaz having to interfere. Arman Ilıcak sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Mehmet Şefik Gence fell near the penalty area in the 82nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Kelkit's protests and gave Mehmet Şefik Gence a yellow card for diving instead. Mehmet Şefik Gence hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. A hard shot by Ahmet Refik Umar from long distance, 83 minutes into the match, got Yalçın Taymaz's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Armağan Münibs short, quick shot in the 87thth minute got Yalçın Taymaz to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Gökhun Yöntem sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 96 minutes into the match, Kelkit's Çeliker Öztanır broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. There was no doubt that Kelkit were the better team. Kelkit's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
