Ersin Türehan made an important save on a dangerous shot by Şinasi Orgunalp in the 26th minute. With a little luck, Kazasker SK's Ersin Türehan got control of the ball when Şinasi Orgunalp tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 29th minute, Şinasi Orgunalp got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Zafer Şerafeddin came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Kazasker SK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zafer Şerafeddin couldn't finish the play. When Tolga Konguralp fell near the penalty area in the 38th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gediz's protests and gave Tolga Konguralp a yellow card for diving instead. After 38 played minutes Gediz got a freekick which was hit by Tolga Konguralp. After having played for 42 minutes, Bahtiyar Taze managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gediz's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bahtiyar Taze was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Kazasker SK booed when Gediz was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tolga Konguralp didn't get a good kick on the ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Zafer Şerafeddin was the one to do the kick off. Güner İlkut showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mürsel Öveç, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. Kazasker SK's Kurtuluş Şemsi quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Ekrem Uğurlubey, made in the 68th minute of the game. After 69 played minutes Gediz got a freekick which was hit by Ekrem Uğurlubey. In the 72nd minute, Kazasker SK's Mürsel Öveç ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Güner İlkut. Güner İlkut yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-1. After a rather tough play, Kazasker SK's Naim Oykan got a free kick in the 79th minute. In the 83rd match minute, Kazasker SK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Selahaddin Sabuncu to maneuver through the defense. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Gediz reached it. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
