Bilgehan Tokalp's late challenge caught a Kilis's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gediz's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Seyfullah Beren was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. After 14 played minutes Kilis got a freekick which was hit by Ensar Kayraalp. Güner İlkut showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Seyfullah Beren, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. If Bahtiyar Taze had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Yahya Karaca in the 27thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Güner İlkut, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Şinasi Orgunalp might have been able to make a better finish in the 30th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Andaç Latif. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Şinasi Orgunalp ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 38th play minute Yahya Karaca came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Güner İlkut. 2-0. Ahmet Ziya Baştürk received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Güner İlkut tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Bahtiyar Taze stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Kilis's Andaç Latif played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bahtiyar Taze in the 52nd minute of play. In the 69th match minute, Kilis was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ensar Kayraalp to maneuver through the defense. 70 minutes into the match, Kilis's goal looked a bit too open when Bahtiyar Taze came free, but Andaç Latif reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Yahya Karaca in the 71st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Güner İlkut prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Mustafa Birol Naci charged in rather forcefully in the 73rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down.
