Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) After having played for 5 minutes, Ergün Hürsel managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ankara's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ergün Hürsel was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Müjdat Özer made a fantastic save in the 10th minute, when Bulut Koral sent off a good shot on target. In the 19th minute, Bulut Koral ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Müjdat Özer was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Müjdat Özer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ergün Hürsel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 28th minute of the game. One of Ankara:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of İskenderunspor:s goal. 33 minutes into the match, İskenderunspor's goalkeeper Müjdat Özer had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bulut Koral. Ergün Hürsel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Müjdat Özer having to interfere. Hayati Polatalp fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Şener Cankan having to interfere. Vedat Sıbgatullah received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Şener Cankan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cengiz Sefer hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Seyit Tercan stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to İskenderunspor getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Erdem Yura hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ergün Hürsel in the 56th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Müjdat Özer saved İskenderunspor from getting behind. In the 68th match minute, Ankara was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nazmi Toktimur to maneuver through the defense. Seyit Tercan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Şener Cankan having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Vedat Sıbgatullah got free with Şener Cankan in the 87th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Müjdat Özer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bulut Koral in the 88th minute of play. After 91 played minutes İskenderunspor got a freekick which was hit by Ali Hamza Erginer. In the 92nd minute of the match, Arif Ensar Oğuzata sent away a good long shot that could have become a goal, but Müjdat Özer showed an example of his skillful tending and made the save just under the crossbar. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
