Yüce Üstam hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. Oğuzer Tutku kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. Mete Ulucağ showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ali Nejat Ersunal, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. Mete Ulucağ showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ali Nejat Ersunal in the 24th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adnan Sancar in the 27th minute of play forced Süleoglu SK's goalkeeper İlhami Safir to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ilgaz SK's Adnan Sancar got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 32nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Süleoglu SK's goalkeeper İlhami Safir, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Ilgaz SK's zone, Aybar Yalavaç stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mete Ulucağ came out of the goal and Aybar Yalavaç tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 37th minute Ali Nejat Ersunal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mete Ulucağ saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mete Ulucağ showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aybar Yalavaç, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. Mete Ulucağ made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ali Nejat Ersunal in the 40th minute of play. If Adnan Sancar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ali Nejat Ersunal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Mete Ulucağ tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ali Nejat Ersunal in the 52nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mete Ulucağ prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Aybar Yalavaç had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpected shot in the 59th minute by Aybar Yalavaç got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Ali Nejat Ersunal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mete Ulucağ having to interfere. Mete Ulucağ showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ali Nejat Ersunal in the 71st minute of the match. In the 73rd minute, Nazil Abay got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 74 minutes into the game, Lütfi Okanalp was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Süleoglu SK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ilgaz SK the free kick. After some careless play in the Süleoglu SK defense, Adnan Sancar kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of İlhami Safir. The Süleoglu SK fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that İlhami Safir should have stopped the shot. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Yüce Üstam during the 91st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Ilgaz SK getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Yüce Üstam hit a great ball. When the referee blew the final whistle, Ilgaz SK could leave the field as winners, despite Süleoglu SK having more of the ball for most of the match.
