Işık Gazir started the match with the kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Resul Şenyaşar during the 6th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Ayranci SK booed when FenerBahceSk was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Resul Şenyaşar didn't get a good kick on the ball. Süleyman Avcu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 8th minute of the match, but Güner Daim made a huge save. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Abdulbaki Yalazalp managed to get in a good position for a shot. FenerBahceSk's supporters rose to their feet, but Abdulbaki Yalazalp was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Besim İlighan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 26 minutes into the match, Ayranci SK's Emrah Cebir sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Güner Daim narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Süleyman Avcu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ayranci SK's Işık Gazir got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 43 minutes, Süleyman Avcu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ayranci SK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Süleyman Avcu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Yaman Canıtez charged in rather forcefully in the 44th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Yaman Canıtez the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Ayranci SK booed when FenerBahceSk was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Yaman Canıtez didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 46th minute of the match, Işık Gazir tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Güner Daim saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Hulusi Tanırer in the 55th minute of play forced Ayranci SK's goalkeeper Besim İlighan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. FenerBahceSk's Güner Daim played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Işık Gazir in the 62nd minute of play. When Süleyman Avcu came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Ayranci SK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Süleyman Avcu couldn't finish the play. The supporters of FenerBahceSk booed when Ayranci SK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emrah Cebir didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 75th minute, Ali Numan Vecdet sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Ayranci SK's Besim İlighan didn't even have to move. The FenerBahceSk fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Güner Daim should have stopped the shot. Hulusi Tanırer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Besim İlighan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Ayranci SK had played much better football throughout.
