In the 3rd match minute, Fikirtepe JK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Baransel Saraç to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Yılmaz Cihanmert in the 8th minute of play forced Fikirtepe JK's goalkeeper Ediz Taşcıoğlu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 9 minutes into the game, Orçun Seylab was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Fikirtepe JK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ceyhan SK the free kick. In the 9th match minute, Fikirtepe JK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Orçun Seylab to maneuver through the defense. Hayri Vural received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Ediz Taşcıoğlu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ediz Taşcıoğlu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Yılmaz Cihanmert's shot from short distance in the 17th minute. Yılmaz Cihanmert received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Ediz Taşcıoğlu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Yılmaz Cihanmert fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ediz Taşcıoğlu having to interfere. In the 24th minute, Hakkı Devrim Cömert hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ediz Taşcıoğlu didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Yılmaz Cihanmert went, in the 25th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. When Hayri Vural came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Ceyhan SK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hayri Vural couldn't finish the play. If Yılmaz Cihanmert had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ediz Taşcıoğlu didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Yılmaz Cihanmert went, in the 40th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Yılmaz Cihanmert might have been able to make a better finish in the 47th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ediz Taşcıoğlu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Yılmaz Cihanmert ran back to his position shaking his head. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Yılmaz Cihanmert was the one to do the kick off. Fikirtepe JK's Ediz Taşcıoğlu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Yılmaz Cihanmert in the 60th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Ceyhan SK's zone, Semail Cengaver stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Boğaçhan Ilıcan came out of the goal and Semail Cengaver tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Semail Cengaver received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Boğaçhan Ilıcan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Boğaçhan Ilıcan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Semail Cengaver in the 70th minute of play. Ceyhan SK's Boğaçhan Ilıcan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Boğaçhan Sunullah in the 71st minute of play. After 74 minutes, Gökhan Bostancıoğlu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ceyhan SK and the Fikirtepe JK players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Fikirtepe JK booed when Ceyhan SK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gökhan Bostancıoğlu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Boğaçhan Sunullah in the 79th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Boğaçhan Ilıcan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 81 minutes into the match, Fikirtepe JK's goalkeeper Ediz Taşcıoğlu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hayri Vural. In the 84th minute of the match, Hayri Vural got a very nice opportunity to score, but Ediz Taşcıoğlu was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Boğaçhan Ilıcan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Semail Cengaver in the 86th minute of the match. Baransel Saraç kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. Yılmaz Cihanmert was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 95th minute. Ceyhan SK's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Ceyhan SK's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
