Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Aykutalp Hicabi started the match with the kick off. Eşref Oğuztan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Baturalp Ökten in the 7th minute of play. After 12 played minutes Galatasaray Sk got a freekick which was hit by Fatih Bostancı. The long shot by Berker Rıza Ünek in the 13th minute really tested Akgün Ülküsel's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Eşref Oğuztan came out of the goal in the 15th minute to try and stop a shot by Galatasaray Sk's Semi Oğuztüzün. But to his dismay, Semi Oğuztüzün quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After a rather tough play, İzmirSpor's Çelikan İçten got a free kick in the 27th minute. Eşref Oğuztan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bahtiyar Uluşahin in the 29th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tayfun Hallaç in the 32nd minute of play forced Galatasaray Sk's goalkeeper Akgün Ülküsel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bahtiyar Uluşahin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Akgün Ülküsel made a fantastic save in the 38th minute, when Peyami Arısan sent off a good shot on target. Reis Akman charged in rather forcefully in the 38th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Reis Akman the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Reis Akman kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. Akgün Ülküsel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aykutalp Hicabi in the 45th minute of the match.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Baturalp Ökten was the one to do the kick off. After 52 played minutes Galatasaray Sk got a freekick which was hit by Fatih Bostancı. An unexpectedly hard shot by Baturalp Ökten in the 55th minute of play forced İzmirSpor's goalkeeper Eşref Oğuztan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Baturalp Ökten fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eşref Oğuztan having to interfere. Akgün Ülküsel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Peyami Arısan, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. Eşref Oğuztan was out of position in the 64 minute of play, and Baturalp Ökten capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Baturalp Ökten really showed his touch with that goal: 0-3. After a rather tough play, Galatasaray Sk's Cahit Vedatoğulları got a free kick in the 68th minute. In the 69th minute of the match Gökberk Hürmüz shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Akgün Ülküsel showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Semi Oğuztüzün fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eşref Oğuztan having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Baturalp Ökten in the 90th minute of play forced İzmirSpor's goalkeeper Eşref Oğuztan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bahtiyar Uluşahin's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 91stth minute, Eşref Oğuztan skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After 94 minutes, Utkan Ünalp mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Galatasaray Sk and the İzmirSpor players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 94th match minute, Galatasaray Sk was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Utkan Ünalp to maneuver through the defense. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Galatasaray Sk eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
