Kayhan Onursay ran back to his position shaking his head. If Kutluay Özalpman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Neşat Rasif fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hadi Mecit having to interfere. When Sefa Kutlu fell near the penalty area in the 24th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Kocarli's protests and gave Sefa Kutlu a yellow card for diving instead. Sefa Kutlu was shown his second yellow card after 31 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 31st minute, Sefa Kutlu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Kayhan Onursay had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 33rd minute, Ruhi Kıvanç had to leave the field with a concussion. When Neşat Rasif fell near the penalty area in the 34th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kayhan Onursay in the 36th minute of play forced Kocarli's goalkeeper Mehmet Edip Mecit to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Kutluay Özalpman got free with Hadi Mecit in the 39th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Mehmet Edip Mecit came out of the goal and Ünsal Karlukhan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Yusuf Ziya Kökten fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hadi Mecit having to interfere. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Kutluay Özalpman made a kick off. Kayhan Onursay recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Kayhan Onursay's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 54thth minute, Mehmet Edip Mecit skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Kocarli's Mehmet Edip Mecit proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to save Kocarli from getting a goal against them. Kayhan Onursay sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 66th minute, Kutluay Özalpman got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Hadi Mecit took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kutluay Özalpman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Kilyos would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
