Ali Cafer Üngörmüş, 29 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Trabzonspor's zone, Şaban Tunak stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Seyfettin Uludağ came out of the goal and Şaban Tunak tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Kuddusî İpek fell near the penalty area in the 32nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Trabzonspor's protests and gave Kuddusî İpek a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Trabzonspor getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Kuddusî İpek hit a great ball. When the match clock showed 34 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Şadi Devrim sped through Trabzonspor's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Seyfettin Uludağ. Trabzonspor's Seyfettin Uludağ played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rahmi Sökmener in the 38th minute of play. Trabzonspor's Yaşar Tanalp got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Recai Şenalp fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abdi Saygın Suyurgal having to interfere. In the 49th minute of the match, Recai Şenalp got a very nice opportunity to score, but Abdi Saygın Suyurgal was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post.

A collision led to Bagcilar getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Lütfü Ömürcan hit a great ball. Abdi Saygın Suyurgal stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Yaşar Tanalp's shot from short distance in the 55th minute. In the 58th minute Şaban Tunak shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Seyfettin Uludağ saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Yaşar Tanalp in the 60th minute of play forced Bagcilar's goalkeeper Abdi Saygın Suyurgal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Trabzonspor's Kuddusî İpek got a free kick in the 62nd minute. In the 69th match minute, Bagcilar was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Şadi Devrim to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Şaban Tunak got free with Seyfettin Uludağ in the 71st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 77 played minutes Trabzonspor got a freekick which was hit by Özbek Secaat. In the 78th minute, Ali Baran Özaltın sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Trabzonspor's Seyfettin Uludağ didn't even have to move. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Şaban Tunak in the 82nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Seyfettin Uludağ saved Trabzonspor from getting behind. Recai Şenalp sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Yaşar Tanalp sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal.
