With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mirkelam Sıraç prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience was convinced that Mehmet Emin İşcan's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ahmet Refik Dilhan was relentless in the 32nd minute of the game. A collision led to Ankara getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Nazmi Erşahin hit a great ball. If Osman Torcan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. After the first half Ankara were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Osman Torcan to strike the kick off in the second half. Faruk Nafiz Karacan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Mirkelam Sıraç tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Ankara booed when Dürümsipor was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ardahan Coşan didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 59th minute, Ankara's Alparslan Acem dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-2. Mirkelam Sıraç didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Dürümsipor.
