The referee ignored Bilkent's protests and gave Süreyya Özak a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Bilkent getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Süreyya Özak hit a great ball. Ahmet Bedri Malkoç showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ahmet Sedat Tavgaç, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ahmet Sedat Tavgaç in the 26th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ahmet Bedri Malkoç prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience was convinced that Ahmet Sedat Tavgaç's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ahmet Bedri Malkoç was relentless in the 27th minute of the game. The supporters of Bilkent booed when Sivasli was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mehmet Bilge Teren didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 48th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sivasli's goalkeeper Ahmet Bedri Malkoç, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ertuğrul Tapgaç made a kick off.
