The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After having played for 5 minutes, Erdal Turgut managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kozan's supporters crossed their fingers, but Erdal Turgut was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 6th minute of the match Hayri Enbiya sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Abdulhamit Aktaşoğlu skillfully saved the ball. The audience was convinced that Erdal Turgut's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Abdulhamit Aktaşoğlu was relentless in the 7th minute of the game. Yılmaz Secahat received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Abdulhamit Aktaşoğlu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Anıl Ozan Betik hit a great freekick 48 minutes into the match. In the 49th minute of the match Erdal Turgut shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Abdulhamit Aktaşoğlu showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Hasan Hüseyin Karlukhan to make the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Ateş Özdilmaç made a precise shot to the right of Berat Yücel. Kozan's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. After some fancy dribbling in the 72nd minute, Nejat Keykavus managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kozan's supporters rose to their feet, but Nejat Keykavus was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Abdulhamit Aktaşoğlu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Faruk Baysan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Balat JK's zone, Nejat Keykavus stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Abdulhamit Aktaşoğlu came out of the goal and Nejat Keykavus tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Kozan getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Erdal Turgut hit a great ball. Berat Yücel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kazım Uçman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Balat JK booed when Kozan was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Süleyman Renan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Berat Yücel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hasan Hüseyin Karlukhan in the 88th minute of the match. Kozan's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
