TEKMİL FC's Cüneyt Mahşer proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to save TEKMİL FC from getting a goal against them. Yunus Muhammed's late challenge caught a Göztepe SK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Yunus Muhammed helped the player get up and apologised. In the 24th minute, Yunus Muhammed hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Olcay Topel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Faik Vahat might have been able to make a better finish in the 45th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Atabey Başkaya. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Faik Vahat ran back to his position shaking his head. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Yunus Muhammed managed to get in a good position for a shot. TEKMİL FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Yunus Muhammed was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Atabey Başkaya breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Olcay Topel to make the kick off. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
