Fehmi Kongur's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cenk Başkaya read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 17th minute of play. 19 minutes into the match, Sehitkamil's goalkeeper Cenk Başkaya had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Fehmi Kongur. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hatemi Tankan in the 25th minute of play forced Erzin's goalkeeper Şenol Topel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 28 played minutes Sehitkamil got a freekick which was hit by Ahmet Necdet Ongunsu. Fehmi Kongur's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cenk Başkaya read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 39th minute of play. After the first half Sehitkamil were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the match clock showed 56 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Muhammet Saruca sped through Sehitkamil's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Cenk Başkaya. Cenk Başkaya showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fehmi Kongur in the 74th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Hatemi Tankan's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Şenol Topel was relentless in the 75th minute of the game.
