If Murat Ulvi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Izmir's Özal Atacan got a free kick in the 8th minute. Murat Ulvi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 14th minute the ball was on its way in behind Güzelbahce JK's goalkeeper Ayberk Erdönmez, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Özal Atacan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ayberk Erdönmez having to interfere. Özal Atacan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Ayberk Erdönmez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 22 minutes into the game, Muhsin Tozan recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Ayberk Erdönmez. Muhsin Tozan showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. If Murat Ulvi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Özal Atacan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ayberk Erdönmez having to interfere. Ayberk Erdönmez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Muhsin Tozan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ayberk Erdönmez made an important save on a dangerous shot by Özal Atacan in the 36th minute. In the 36th minute, Bedrettin Esraf hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Güzelbahce JK's zone, Özal Atacan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ayberk Erdönmez came out of the goal and Özal Atacan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Muhsin Tozan came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the Izmir fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Muhsin Tozan couldn't finish the play. If Yağız Taşan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Yağız Taşan made a kick off. After 58 played minutes Izmir got a freekick which was hit by Ali Faruk Danış. After a rather tough play, Izmir's Nedim Masum got a free kick in the 61st minute. 63 minutes into the game, Ali Faruk Danış was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Izmir's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Güzelbahce JK the free kick. Ali Faruk Danış kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. Özal Atacan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ayberk Erdönmez having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Özal Atacan's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ayberk Erdönmez was relentless in the 69th minute of the game. The Izmir fans' excitement grew in the 69th match minute when Izmir's Özal Atacan looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. If Özal Atacan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ayberk Erdönmez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Muhsin Tozan in the 85th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Murat Ulvi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Güzelbahce JK's supporters rose to their feet, but Murat Ulvi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Celil Duman breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Celil Duman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Yağız Taşan in the 90th minute of play. 90 minutes into the game, Güzelbahce JK's Yağız Taşan nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Celil Duman made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-3. Murat Ulvi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Güzelbahce JK's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
