An unexpectedly hard shot by Gürhan Kornes in the 6th minute of play forced Tahtakale's goalkeeper Baykam Durualp to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Baykam Durualp was a little too slow when Olcay Orkun Başdoğan got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 10th minute. The score was now 1-0. Saltuk Felek fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kasım Arabacı having to interfere. 23 minutes into the game, Haşmet Tunçtürk threw the ball into play from the sideline. Tahtakale's Mehmet Sabancı quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. In the 24th minute Mehmet Sabancı shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kasım Arabacı saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Resulhan Akdoğan hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Baykam Durualp showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Olcay Orkun Başdoğan, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Kasım Arabacı made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Saltuk Felek in the 27th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mehmet Sabancı in the 30th minute of play forced Yazihan's goalkeeper Kasım Arabacı to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Yazihan booed when Tahtakale was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Abdülhak Alkın didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 40 minutes, Saip Kayrahan mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Yazihan and the Tahtakale players grew even worse after the yellow card. Baykam Durualp showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Resulhan Akdoğan in the 44th minute of the match. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Olcay Orkun Başdoğan was the one to do the kick off. Mehmet Sabancı sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Yazihan's Kasım Arabacı proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 88th minute of the match, managed to save Yazihan from getting a goal against them. After some careless play in the Tahtakale defense, Hayri Buminhan kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Baykam Durualp. The Tahtakale fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Baykam Durualp should have stopped the shot. Many of Tahtakale's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Tahtakale may have spent more time on the ball, but Yazihan were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
