After 6 minutes of play, Istinye's Artun Saver made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gani Tapgaç was left in no man's land by his defense there! Sinan Erdursun recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 9th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Agah Akoğul was a little too slow when Şansal Ünveren got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 12th minute. The score was now 1-1. If Ahmet Necdet Balıkçı had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Agah Akoğul made a fantastic save in the 20th minute, when Ahmet Necdet Balıkçı sent off a good shot on target. Agah Akoğul made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ahmet Necdet Balıkçı in the 21st minute. Artun Saver hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. Agah Akoğul showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Şansal Ünveren in the 27th minute of the match. Agah Akoğul made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hüsnü Ulvi in the 29th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ahmet Necdet Balıkçı got free with Agah Akoğul in the 30th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 30th match minute, Ürgüp was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ersan Uğur to maneuver through the defense. Gani Tapgaç showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Yaşar Nuri Tankut, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. If Yaşar Nuri Tankut had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Yaşar Nuri Tankut was the one to do the kick off. After having played for 52 minutes, Ahmet Necdet Balıkçı managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ürgüp's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ahmet Necdet Balıkçı was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Agah Akoğul took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Şansal Ünveren, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Müjdat Taki had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Yaşar Nuri Tankut fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gani Tapgaç having to interfere. Agah Akoğul made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Şansal Ünveren in the 95th minute of play. Istinye's Yaşar Nuri Tankut got a good chance for a goal in the 97th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Istinye's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
