In the 14th minute, Cankut Budak got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Cankut Budak came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Tunceli SK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cankut Budak couldn't finish the play. Ömer Cideli kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. Cankut Budak scored 0-1 in the 24th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Cavit Hayal, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a defensive mix-up in GaLaTaSaRaY SK's zone, Cankut Budak stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cavit Hayal came out of the goal and Cankut Budak tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cankut Budak scored 0-2 in the 30th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Cavit Hayal, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 35th match minute, GaLaTaSaRaY SK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Serhat Özdamar to maneuver through the defense. Cavit Hayal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Özer Saltar in the 37th minute of play. Gürcan Umman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, GaLaTaSaRaY SK's Cavit Hayal got control of the ball when Cankut Budak tried to sneak it across the goal line. Naim Mansız sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tunceli SK's Özer Saltar got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 78 minutes into the match, Tunceli SK's Cankut Budak sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cavit Hayal narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Cavit Hayal made a fantastic save in the 79th minute, when Cankut Budak sent off a good shot on target. If Serhat Özdamar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Şenol Çaykara showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. A collision led to GaLaTaSaRaY SK getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Ralf Sundström hit a great ball. Cankut Budak could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 97th minute of the match, but Cavit Hayal made a huge save. The Tunceli SK supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Tunceli SK would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
