Liverpool FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aycan Tayfun was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Kaptan Piri Reis DK's Engin Ahid played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fazıl Hüsnü Aksun in the 36th minute of play. Engin Ahid showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aycan Tayfun in the 37th minute of the match. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Hadi Bakkalbaşı stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nihat Vacip in the 92nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gökmen Ateş prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hadi Bakkalbaşı in the 93rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gökmen Ateş saved Liverpool FC from getting behind. If Aycan Tayfun had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
