Artvin's Kıvanç Bilge played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oktay Tun in the 3rd minute of play. In the 8th match minute, Artvin was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kamber Seza to maneuver through the defense. When Ahmet Kağan Tuğlu came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the Cayyolu fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ahmet Kağan Tuğlu couldn't finish the play. With his leg Dilmen Yetkin managed to avoid a goal in the 14thth minute, when Artvin's Mustafa Oğuz Rical fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Ahmet Kağan Tuğlu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kıvanç Bilge took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Oktay Tun, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Cayyolu's Oktay Tun in the 28th minute got a chance for a shot 28th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Artvin's goalie prevented a goal. Cayyolu's supporters rose to their feet, but Ahmet Kağan Tuğlu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kıvanç Bilge breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Oktay Tun's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Kıvanç Bilge read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 41st minute of play. Bahadır Soner sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 49 played minutes Artvin got a freekick which was hit by Mustafa Oğuz Rical. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ahmet Kağan Tuğlu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Mehdi Tokyüz charged in rather forcefully in the 57th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Mehdi Tokyüz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Cayyolu getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Mehdi Tokyüz hit a great ball. In the 62nd minute Mustafa Oğuz Rical shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dilmen Yetkin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 63 minutes into the match, Cayyolu's goal looked a bit too open when Bahadır Soner came free, but Dilmen Yetkin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 65 played minutes Cayyolu got a freekick which was hit by Cuma Keskin. Dilmen Yetkin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bahadır Soner in the 67th minute of play. 70 minutes into the match, Cayyolu's Ahmet Kağan Tuğlu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Kıvanç Bilge narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The supporters of Cayyolu booed when Artvin was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Celal Tunay didn't get a good kick on the ball. 74 minutes into the match, Müjdat Kanber sent off a long shot that looked like it was going straight into the goal, but because Kıvanç Bilge threw himself in his full length he managed to grip the ball by the left post, and there was no goal for Müjdat Kanber this time. Kamber Seza's late challenge caught a Cayyolu's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kamber Seza helped the player get up and apologised. 77 minutes into the match, Artvin's goal looked a bit too open when Ahmet Kağan Tuğlu came free, but Kıvanç Bilge reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 79th minute, Müjdat Kanber hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mustafa Oğuz Rical fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dilmen Yetkin having to interfere. Cayyolu's Cuma Keskin shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 87th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Kıvanç Bilge but with some difficulty. When the match had gone on for 99 minutes, Ahmet Kağan Tuğlu took a quick shot and it went in 0-1 without a chance for Kıvanç Bilge to make any attempt to save it.
