When Derya Bardakçıoğlu fell near the penalty area in the 8th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gebze's protests and gave Derya Bardakçıoğlu a yellow card for diving instead. In the 10th match minute, Gebze was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ümit Hadi to maneuver through the defense. Turgay Beykan blasted a shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Hakkı Devrim Arpacı having to make a save. Arif Ozan Vahip hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. Ertunç Tolgay fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ahmet Ziya Cebe having to interfere. Ahmet Ziya Cebe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ertunç Tolgay in the 19th minute of play. Arda Göksel Işıklar's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 23rdth minute, Ahmet Ziya Cebe skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 24th minute, Doğaner Kemalettin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Turgay Beykan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 30 minutes into the match, Gebze's Ertunç Tolgay sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ahmet Ziya Cebe narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 31st minute, Arda Göksel Işıklar reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Ahmet Ziya Cebe. The goal made the score 1-0. When Ertunç Tolgay came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Gebze fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ertunç Tolgay couldn't finish the play. 47 minutes into the match, Gebze's goal looked a bit too open when Turgay Beykan came free, but Hakkı Devrim Arpacı reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Ertunç Tolgay sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 61st minute, Feridun Kartay hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 64th minute, Ertunç Tolgay ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ahmet Ziya Cebe was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ertunç Tolgay in the 68th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ahmet Ziya Cebe prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ahmet Ziya Cebe took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arda Göksel Işıklar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ahmet Ziya Cebe showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arda Göksel Işıklar in the 74th minute of the match. The supporters of Gebze booed when YENİGİRNESK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rıfat Yücesoy didn't get a good kick on the ball. 75 minutes into the game, Ertunç Tolgay cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Ahmet Ziya Cebe was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 80 minutes, Rıfat Yücesoy mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the YENİGİRNESK and the Gebze players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 80 played minutes YENİGİRNESK got a freekick which was hit by Rıfat Yücesoy. Ahmet Ziya Cebe showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ertunç Tolgay, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. In the 82nd minute, Doğaner Kemalettin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. YENİGİRNESK's Ahmet Ziya Cebe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ertunç Tolgay in the 83rd minute of play. Arda Göksel Işıklar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ahmet Ziya Cebe having to interfere. Ümit Hadi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Ahmet Ziya Cebe tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Arda Göksel Işıklar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Arda Göksel Işıklar during the 91st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 91 played minutes Gebze got a freekick which was hit by Arda Göksel Işıklar. Arda Göksel Işıklar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ahmet Ziya Cebe having to interfere. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Gebze fully deserved thier win.
