The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Adem Onurkan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Canakci's Günalp Mete got a free kick in the 5th minute. Ali Ömer Pirane showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ayhan Kınay in the 6th minute of the match. Feridun Kutberk's late challenge caught a Canakci's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Feridun Kutberk helped the player get up and apologised. Feridun Kutberk hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. After having played for 12 minutes, Adem Onurkan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Canakci's supporters crossed their fingers, but Adem Onurkan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 14th minute the ball was on its way in behind Galatasaray SK's goalkeeper Hulki Yalkı, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Canakci's Abdurrahman Alpaslan came free and shot a quick shot against goal 16 minutes in the game, fortunately Hulki Yalkı had problems saving as it came toward the left post. The audience was convinced that Adem Onurkan's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Hulki Yalkı was relentless in the 18th minute of the game. Hulki Yalkı came out and tried to block the shot, but Adem Onurkan slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 28th minute. The supporters of Galatasaray SK booed when Canakci was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Günalp Mete didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cemal Siraceddin in the 31st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ali Ömer Pirane prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience thought a goal was coming when Abdurrahman Alpaslan got free with Hulki Yalkı in the 36th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 38th minute, Adem Onurkan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Adem Onurkan in the 41st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hulki Yalkı prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Galatasaray SK's Hulki Yalkı proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 44th minute of the match, managed to save Galatasaray SK from getting a goal against them. Ali Ömer Pirane made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ayhan Kınay in the 48th minute of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
Canakci's Abdurrahman Alpaslan got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ali Ömer Pirane showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cemal Siraceddin in the 58th minute of the match. Ayhan Kınay recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Abdurrahman Alpaslan, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 66 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Hulki Yalkı was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. If Cemal Siraceddin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 74 played minutes Canakci got a freekick which was hit by Turgay Reşan. In the 78th minute of the match Rafettin İlter sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ali Ömer Pirane skillfully saved the ball. When %teams%'s Cemal Siraceddin was free in front of goal, he didn't hesitate to shoot 1-2 just inside the left pole, 80 minutes into the game. Ali Ömer Pirane was annoyed at himself for letting in the shot. Canakci's Abdurrahman Alpaslan got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Abdurrahman Alpaslan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Hulki Yalkı tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ayhan Kınay blasted a shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ali Ömer Pirane having to make a save. Ayhan Kınay could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 92nd minute of the match, but Ali Ömer Pirane made a huge save. Adem Onurkan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Canakci manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Galatasaray SK to win.
