In the 16th minute the ball was on its way in behind Dörtyol's goalkeeper Saruhan Şirvan, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Saruhan Şirvan made an important save on a dangerous shot by Zaid Oğuzer in the 40th minute. In the 45th minute, Zaid Oğuzer got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Seyhan Sebuktekin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Atahan Kaplan, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Selim Tümer made the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Atahan Kaplan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Dörtyol's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Merter FK the free kick.
