Canakci SK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hacı Ali Uğursoy was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Mümtazer Ergunalp had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Şakir Sabir received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Hacı Şahinkan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Hüseyin Rahmi Genç fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Tokatspor SK's protests and gave Hüseyin Rahmi Genç a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Canakci SK booed when Tokatspor SK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hüseyin Rahmi Genç didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bayram Ulunay's late challenge caught a Canakci SK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bayram Ulunay helped the player get up and apologised. In the 28th match minute, Tokatspor SK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bayram Ulunay to maneuver through the defense. 29 minutes into the match, Canakci SK's Mirza Aymaz broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Hacı Şahinkan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tanju Uslu in the 36th minute of play. Canakci SK's Yasin Özguc proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 38th minute of the match, managed to save Canakci SK from getting a goal against them. Hacı Şahinkan didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Şakir Sabir went, in the 44th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Şakir Sabir received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Hacı Şahinkan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tanju Uslu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Mümtazer Ergunalp fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Yasin Özguc having to interfere. In the 56th minute of the match, Tanju Uslu tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Hacı Şahinkan saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Hüseyin Rahmi Genç received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Yasin Özguc tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 60 minutes, Selman Oğuzer mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Canakci SK and the Tokatspor SK players grew even worse after the yellow card. The attack was good, but when Şakir Sabir in the 66th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Tanju Uslu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Canakci SK's supporters rose to their feet, but Tanju Uslu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hacı Şahinkan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The crowd rose to their feet as Tanju Uslu kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Hacı Şahinkan. That made the score 0-2 in the 72 minute of play. Hacı Şahinkan stood somewhat misplaced when Şakir Sabir came free in front of goal and shot 0-3 to the left of him in the 75 minute. Hacı Şahinkan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tanju Uslu, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. Hüseyin Rahmi Genç sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 96th minute, Mümtazer Ergunalp got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
