Atilla Tarkan Yalçuk started the match with the kick off. The referee felt a red card was in order, 8 minutes into the game, when Mustafa Barış Binalp put in a rough tackle. The referee gave Kelkit FK a penalty, 10 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Ahmet Kadri Tanberk, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Ilgin SK's İlhan Ersezer. 0-1. Gürbüz Akçakan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without İlhan Ersezer having to interfere. İlhan Ersezer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gürbüz Akçakan in the 15th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by İlkan Özkan during the 16th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 16th minute, İlkan Özkan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. İlhan Ersezer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gürbüz Akçakan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Gürbüz Akçakan came up free with the goalie in the 18th minute, the Kelkit FK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gürbüz Akçakan couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Muhittin Urangu in the 27th minute of play forced Ilgin SK's goalkeeper İlhan Ersezer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. İlyas Bilkan kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. Ilgin SK's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Batuhan Secaat in the 31st minute. After taking down the ball on Ilgin SK's corner Batuhan Secaat fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Affan İkbal quite easily take care of the ball. Baransel Ayvaz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Affan İkbal made an important save on a dangerous shot by Baransel Ayvaz in the 39th minute. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gürbüz Akçakan to make the kick off. Affan İkbal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Baransel Ayvaz in the 63rd minute of the match. If Baransel Ayvaz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 75th minute, Gürbüz Akçakan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kelkit FK's supporters rose to their feet, but Gürbüz Akçakan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. İlhan Ersezer breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Baransel Ayvaz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Affan İkbal having to interfere. Erenay İley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 85 minutes into the game, Bedirhan Zeren was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ilgin SK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Kelkit FK the free kick. In the 85th minute, Bedirhan Zeren hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Muhittin Urangus short, quick shot in the 86thth minute got İlhan Ersezer to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Kelkit FK had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
