Yaser Benlioğlu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 5th minute of the match, but Refik Urgun made a huge save. Bilge Kortan hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. Refik Urgun was out of position in the 9 minute of play, and Yaser Benlioğlu capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Yaser Benlioğlu really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Yavuzalp Asker hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. Cüneyd Kılınç might have been able to make a better finish in the 20th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Refik Urgun. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cüneyd Kılınç ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 28th minute, Atay Turatekin made a precise shot to the right of Ahmet Ömür Aydınoğlu. Menderes's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Atay Turatekin in the 31st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ahmet Ömür Aydınoğlu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Menderes's Ahmet Ömür Aydınoğlu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Necdet Yücesan in the 32nd minute of play. After having played for 34 minutes, Cüneyd Kılınç managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Menderes's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cüneyd Kılınç was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Yaser Benlioğlu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Cüneyd Kılınç managed to get in a good position for a shot. Menderes's supporters rose to their feet, but Cüneyd Kılınç was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Refik Urgun breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 42 played minutes Elbistan got a freekick which was hit by Gürol Eroğlu. Yaser Benlioğlu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Atay Turatekin was the one to do the kick off. The supporters of Elbistan booed when Menderes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Yıldıray Nebi didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 56 minutes Menderes's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Gencay Sefaaddin who took care of the corner kick. Refik Urgun made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cüneyd Kılınç in the 60th minute of play. Refik Urgun showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Yaser Benlioğlu in the 68th minute of the match. Menderes's Cüneyd Kılınç got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Bilge Kortan kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. After having played for 73 minutes, Cüneyd Kılınç managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Menderes's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cüneyd Kılınç was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Refik Urgun made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cüneyd Kılınç in the 77th minute of play. In the 80th minute, Yusuf Bozlak hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 81st minute, Gencay Sefaaddin fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. After 86 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Elbistan! Cüneyd Kılınç sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Cüneyd Kılınç had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 99th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
