When the match clock showed 5 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Sertaç Özonder sped through Taskent's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Rıdvan Kıvılcım. With a little luck, Fenerbahçe SK's Taha Okhan got control of the ball when Gökhun Kadi tried to sneak it across the goal line. Fenerbahçe SK were furious when Alican İlgi was red carded, 10 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After having played for 18 minutes, Sertaç Özonder managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Fenerbahçe SK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sertaç Özonder was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Yüce İnceman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 24 minutes into the match, Fenerbahçe SK's goalkeeper Taha Okhan had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Basri Tanbey. Rıdvan Kıvılcım showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sertaç Özonder in the 38th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Basri Tanbey got free with Taha Okhan in the 40th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After having played for 42 minutes, Abdullah Argun managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Fenerbahçe SK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Abdullah Argun was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Taha Okhan showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Taskent's zone, Abdulaziz Tuncay stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rıdvan Kıvılcım came out of the goal and Abdulaziz Tuncay tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Fenerbahçe SK's Sertaç Özonder got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Despite being the better team, Fenerbahçe SK failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
