He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Meram reached it. 18 minutes into the match, TRABZONSPOR's goal looked a bit too open when Temel Cangur came free, but Baskın Tanberk reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Selmi İşbilir showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Akgün Ünalan in the 21st minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Akgün Ünalan in the 24th minute of play forced Meram's goalkeeper Selmi İşbilir to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Akgün Ünalan might have been able to make a better finish in the 29th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Selmi İşbilir. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Akgün Ünalan ran back to his position shaking his head. Sungur Talayman's late challenge caught a TRABZONSPOR's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sungur Talayman helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to TRABZONSPOR getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dündar Tarim got free with Selmi İşbilir in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. TRABZONSPOR's Baskın Tanberk played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ali Vedat Hızır in the 41st minute of play. If Temel Cangur had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ali Vedat Hızır fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Baskın Tanberk having to interfere. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.
