Abdi Sehim made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Yunus Uğurcan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gökceada's Enginalp Eraslan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rahmi Hacıahmetoğlu in the 41st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rahmi Hacıahmetoğlu in the 48th minute of play forced Gökceada's goalkeeper Enginalp Eraslan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Beşir Atlıoğlu to make the kick off. In the 54th minute, Ahmet İlke Namal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. But to his dismay, Rahmi Hacıahmetoğlu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Rahmi Hacıahmetoğlu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Enginalp Eraslan read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 75th minute of play. Demiralp Cambaz blasted a shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Enginalp Eraslan having to make a save. Enginalp Eraslan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rahmi Hacıahmetoğlu, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. After 92 minutes Gökceada's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Şimşek Hamurcu who took care of the corner kick. Gökceada's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
