In the 4th minute Nedim Yetiş shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ahmet Turan Mensur saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 15 minutes, Cankut Nesip managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gürsu SK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cankut Nesip was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cankut Nesip fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Garip Özonder having to interfere. Ahmet Turan Mensur made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nedim Yetiş in the 20th minute of play. 21 minutes in the game, Nedim Yetiş fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Ahmet Turan Mensur having to interfere. Arif Gaffar Tekins short, quick shot in the 22ndth minute got Ahmet Turan Mensur to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The crowd rose to their feet as Kirklareli SK's Nedim Yetiş slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Ahmet Turan Mensur. That made the score 2-0 after 25 minutes of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nedim Yetiş in the 28th minute of play forced Gürsu SK's goalkeeper Ahmet Turan Mensur to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Şamil Özdeğer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Kirklareli SK's zone, Cankut Nesip stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Garip Özonder came out of the goal and Cankut Nesip tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ahmet Turan Mensur took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nedim Yetiş, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Gürsu SK booed when Kirklareli SK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Erdinç Tümerkan didn't get a good kick on the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Nedim Yetiş made a kick off. If Arif Gaffar Tekin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. Arif Gaffar Tekin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ahmet Turan Mensur having to interfere. Garip Özonder was a little too slow when Şamil Özdeğer got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 80th minute. The score was now 2-1. In the 83rd minute of the match Baturay Özaltuğ sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ahmet Turan Mensur skillfully saved the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Şamil Özdeğer kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Garip Özonder. That made the score 2-2 in the 85 minute of play. Nedim Yetiş's late challenge caught a Gürsu SK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nedim Yetiş helped the player get up and apologised. In the 87th match minute, Kirklareli SK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nedim Yetiş to maneuver through the defense.
