The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Batuğ Sidal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 17 minutes into the match, Meric's goal looked a bit too open when Erdeniz Tunçkaya came free, but Erkin Yabgu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Erkin Yabgu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Erdeniz Tunçkaya, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Emrullah Keçili fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Erkin Yabgu having to interfere. Erdeniz Tunçkaya struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Erkin Yabgu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mersin İdman Yurdu. 23 minutes into the match, Meric's goal looked a bit too open when Erdeniz Tunçkaya came free, but Erkin Yabgu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 30 played minutes Mersin İdman Yurdu got a freekick which was hit by Atalay Okhan. Batuğ Sidal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Bican Bürgehan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mersin İdman Yurdu's Bican Bürgehan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Batuğ Sidal in the 35th minute of play. After having played for 43 minutes, Erdeniz Tunçkaya managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mersin İdman Yurdu's supporters crossed their fingers, but Erdeniz Tunçkaya was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the match clock showed 46 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Cebrail Ayıkoğlu sped through Mersin İdman Yurdu's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Bican Bürgehan. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
The wind increased when Batuğ Sidal made the kick off in the second half. After 51 minutes, Atalay Okhan mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mersin İdman Yurdu and the Meric players grew even worse after the yellow card. Atalay Okhan kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. Meric's Erkin Yabgu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emrullah Keçili in the 54th minute of play. Erdeniz Tunçkaya's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Erkin Yabgu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 60th minute of play. After having played for 64 minutes, Cebrail Ayıkoğlu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Meric's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cebrail Ayıkoğlu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 67th minute of the match, Erdeniz Tunçkaya got a very nice opportunity to score, but Erkin Yabgu was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 71st minute Batuğ Sidal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bican Bürgehan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Batuğ Sidal in the 76th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bican Bürgehan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Cebrail Ayıkoğlu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bican Bürgehan having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Mersin İdman Yurdu's Orhan Veli Selçuk got a free kick in the 78th minute. If Cebrail Ayıkoğlu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cebrail Ayıkoğlu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bican Bürgehan having to interfere.
