The Kocaelispor fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sezer Salahaddin should have stopped the shot. Bahtiyar Ekincioğlu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Varol Dengizer in the 18th minute of play. In the 23rd minute Akgün Yusuf shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sezer Salahaddin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Varol Dengizer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Dilaver Turay sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Akgün Yusuf had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gökçen Suhan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Gökçen Suhan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kütahyaspor JK's supporters rose to their feet, but Gökçen Suhan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sezer Salahaddin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

After a rather tough play, Kütahyaspor JK's Gürbüz Yiğitcan got a free kick in the 52nd minute. 55 minutes into the game, Dilaver Turay recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Bahtiyar Ekincioğlu. Dilaver Turay showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. In the 61st minute, Gökçen Suhan had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Behçet Mümin during the 61st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 62nd match minute, Kocaelispor was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Behçet Mümin to maneuver through the defense. Kütahyaspor JK's Akgün Yusuf got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A hard shot by Şakir Pozan from long distance, 82 minutes into the match, got Bahtiyar Ekincioğlu's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Sezer Salahaddin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gürbüz Yiğitcan in the 84th minute of play. In the 89th match minute, Kütahyaspor JK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ceyhun İlican to maneuver through the defense. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
