Arif Nihat Tümerkin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nuralp Acaröz having to interfere. The supporters of Petkim SK booed when Gemlik FK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Esat Gümüşcü didn't get a good kick on the ball. İdris Sanak fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nuralp Acaröz having to interfere. In the 17th minute, Esat Gümüşcü hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Arif Nihat Tümerkin in the 40th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nuralp Acaröz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Nuralp Acaröz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from İdris Sanak, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell İdris Sanak to make the kick off. In the 54th minute, Arif Nihat Tümerkin reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Nuralp Acaröz. The goal made the score 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cemal Yükselir in the 98th minute of play forced Petkim SK's goalkeeper Cengiz Uğursan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
