Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Gencer İlkay started the match with the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Hayrabolu's zone, Sefa Şerafeddin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Birant Sefaaddin came out of the goal and Sefa Şerafeddin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Birant Sefaaddin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Okanalp Abdulhakimoğlu in the 4th minute of the match. Birant Sefaaddin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Şükrü Hacısalihoğlu in the 5th minute of play. Hasan Tahsin Melih struck a weak shot in the 7th minute. Birant Sefaaddin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Giresunspor. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gencer İlkay in the 13th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Merih Tüzel prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With his leg Birant Sefaaddin managed to avoid a goal in the 17thth minute, when Giresunspor's Şükrü Hacısalihoğlu fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Gökçen Tarhan's late challenge caught a Giresunspor's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gökçen Tarhan helped the player get up and apologised. Merih Tüzel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gencer İlkay, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gencer İlkay might have been able to make a better finish in the 21st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Merih Tüzel. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gencer İlkay ran back to his position shaking his head. Ahmet Korcan Koral took the ball and in the 23 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Merih Tüzel. Merih Tüzel dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. After a defensive mix-up in Hayrabolu's zone, Tunç Ergüder stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Birant Sefaaddin came out of the goal and Tunç Ergüder tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 32nd minute, Gencer İlkay got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Şükrü Hacısalihoğlu got free with Birant Sefaaddin in the 39th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 41st minute the ball was on its way in behind Giresunspor's goalkeeper Merih Tüzel, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 42nd minute Gökçen Tarhan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Merih Tüzel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With his leg Birant Sefaaddin managed to avoid a goal in the 44thth minute, when Giresunspor's Şükrü Hacısalihoğlu fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Şükrü Hacısalihoğlu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Gencer İlkay received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Merih Tüzel came out and tried to block the shot, but Gencer İlkay slotted it home off the left post making it 0-2 in the 51st minute. Birant Sefaaddin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Şükrü Hacısalihoğlu in the 55th minute of play. Thanks to some nice moves Ahmet Korcan Koral could shoot a difficult shot in the 56th minute, which Merih Tüzel however easily saved by the left post. Giresunspor's Merih Tüzel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gencer İlkay in the 62nd minute of play. Merih Tüzel made a fantastic save in the 66th minute, when Ahmet Korcan Koral sent off a good shot on target. Gökçen Tarhan kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. Hayrabolu's attack was well implemented in the 75th minute, but when Ahmet Korcan Koral was about to shoot he didn't get a good hit on the ball and it hit the crossbar and flew over. Goal Kick. Sefa Şerafeddin kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. Merih Tüzel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gencer İlkay, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. After having played for 83 minutes, Hasan Tahsin Melih managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Giresunspor's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hasan Tahsin Melih was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Merih Tüzel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gencer İlkay, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. Merih Tüzel was a little too slow when Gencer İlkay got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 88th minute. The score was now 0-3. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Hayrabolu had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
