Gebze's Sabahattin Cumali played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Şemsettin Honazlı in the 6th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Binali Özel in the 10th minute of play forced Gebze's goalkeeper Sabahattin Cumali to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Gebze's Ahmet Efe Koryürek got a free kick in the 44th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Gebze's zone, Şemsettin Honazlı stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sabahattin Cumali came out of the goal and Şemsettin Honazlı tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
The wind increased when Zeki İleri made the kick off in the second half. When the match clock showed 56 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Binali Özel sped through Gebze's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Sabahattin Cumali. After a rather tough play, Gebze's Tolunay Vefalı got a free kick in the 58th minute. Güray Uğurata took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 59th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Sabahattin Cumali. Gebze's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. With a little luck, Gebze's Sabahattin Cumali got control of the ball when Binali Özel tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Zeki İleri had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sabahattin Cumali made a fantastic save in the 75th minute, when Binali Özel sent off a good shot on target. Kalecik's Binali Özel got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Sabahattin Cumali showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Günay Ağca, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. Sabahattin Cumali took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Şemsettin Honazlı, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rıza Orgen charged in rather forcefully in the 86th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rıza Orgen the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. If Şemsettin Honazlı had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Kalecik supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Kalecik would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
