Boğaçhan Asya made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rıdvan Gülsoy in the 10th minute of play. In the 13th match minute, Nurdagi was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Göktürk Hazarbeyoğlu to maneuver through the defense. Nurdagi's Çakır İsrafil got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Rıdvan Gülsoy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Behram Buyrukalp to make the kick off. The supporters of Nurdagi booed when Ankara Spor Kulübü was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Reşat Uğurata didn't get a good kick on the ball. 90 minutes into the game, Atilla Bumin Dolunay was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player.
