Ali Faruk Çavlı made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Orçun Uzbay in the 3rd minute of play. 3 minutes into the game, Orçun Uzbay cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Ali Faruk Çavlı was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 16th minute Orçun Uzbay shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ali Faruk Çavlı saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Ersin Okatay managed to get in a good position for a shot. Altinözü JK's supporters rose to their feet, but Ersin Okatay was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ali Faruk Çavlı breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 23 minutes, Ahmet Ömür Şenyurt managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Fenerbahçe SK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ahmet Ömür Şenyurt was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ali Faruk Çavlı took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Orçun Uzbay, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Altinözü JK's Ersin Okatay got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Fenerbahçe SK's Ekrem Özbil got a free kick in the 31st minute. Taha Balısoy took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 32nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Ali Faruk Çavlı. Fenerbahçe SK's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After having played for 34 minutes, Ekrem Özbil managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Fenerbahçe SK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ekrem Özbil was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 36th minute Ekrem Özbil shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sancar Şahruh saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Ahmet Ömür Şenyurt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Orçun Uzbay fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ali Faruk Çavlı having to interfere. Ekrem Özbil's late challenge caught a Altinözü JK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ekrem Özbil helped the player get up and apologised. After 48 played minutes Fenerbahçe SK got a freekick which was hit by Ekrem Özbil. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Orçun Uzbay stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute, Orçun Uzbay got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpected shot in the 58th minute by Ersin Okatay got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Ali Faruk Çavlı stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Orçun Uzbay's shot from short distance in the 61st minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Orçun Uzbay in the 69th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ali Faruk Çavlı prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 71st minute, Ekrem Özbil hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Orçun Uzbay got in the 73rd a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Ali Faruk Çavlı handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Fenerbahçe SK's Ahmet Ömür Şenyurt got a free kick in the 77th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Orçun Uzbay managed to get in a good position for a shot. Altinözü JK's supporters rose to their feet, but Orçun Uzbay was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ali Faruk Çavlı breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Yakut Darcan came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Altinözü JK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Yakut Darcan couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Altinözü JK booed when Fenerbahçe SK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ahmet Ömür Şenyurt didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Altinözü JK supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Altinözü JK would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
