The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 9 minutes into the match, Kastamonu's goalkeeper Vehdi Mutlualp had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Varol Bozoğluer. Celta Vigo's Lemi Ekin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Genco Namdar in the 12th minute of play. Aras Görkem Gençoğlu scored 0-1 in the 13th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Lemi Ekin, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Vehdi Mutlualp took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hakkı Onur Umurbey, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Celta Vigo's Lemi Ekin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abdulkerim Uzgoren in the 22nd minute of play. In the 28th minute, Abdulkerim Uzgoren made a precise shot to the right of Lemi Ekin. Celta Vigo's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. A throw-in in the 31st minute of the game was made by Duran Ubeydullah with Genco Namdar as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. 34 minutes into the game, Hakkı Onur Umurbey recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Vehdi Mutlualp. Hakkı Onur Umurbey showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. In the 37th match minute, Celta Vigo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Varol Bozoğluer to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Genco Namdar in the 40th minute of play forced Celta Vigo's goalkeeper Lemi Ekin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 43rd minute Abdulkerim Uzgoren shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lemi Ekin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hazım Kongar struck a weak shot in the 46th minute. Vehdi Mutlualp didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Celta Vigo. After 48 played minutes Celta Vigo got a freekick which was hit by Şükrü Özdeğer. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Abdulkerim Uzgoren made the kick off in the second half. Vehdi Mutlualp made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Varol Bozoğluer in the 53rd minute of play. After 54 played minutes Kastamonu got a freekick which was hit by Aras Görkem Gençoğlu. After 56 played minutes, Celta Vigo's Şükrü Özdeğer shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Vehdi Mutlualp came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Celta Vigo reached it. In the 57th minute Varol Bozoğluer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vehdi Mutlualp saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 58 minutes into the match, Abdulkerim Uzgoren dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Lemi Ekin, 1-3. Celta Vigo's Lemi Ekin proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 62nd minute of the match, managed to save Celta Vigo from getting a goal against them. Vehdi Mutlualp showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Varol Bozoğluer in the 78th minute of the match. Lemi Ekin was left in no man's land by his defense there! With a little luck, Celta Vigo's Lemi Ekin got control of the ball when Gökhun Yaban tried to sneak it across the goal line. Kastamonu's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
