Menekse's Turgay Cevahir played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arda Ballı in the 6th minute of play. İsrafil Başhekim sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 11 minutes into the match, Menekse's goal looked a bit too open when Arda Ballı came free, but Turgay Cevahir reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Menekse's Adnan Süreyya suffered a concussion after 14 minutes and had to leave the field. After 14 minutes, Birkan Uçbeyi mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ceyhan and the Menekse players grew even worse after the yellow card. 14 minutes into the game, one of Ceyhan:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave Menekse a penalty, 16 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Erdeniz Tufan, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Ceyhan's Dinçer Gazzal. 0-1. 20 minutes into the match, Eyüp Ünsal had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dinçer Gazzal. Ceyhan's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Eyüp Ünsal was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Arda Ballı sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Eyüp Ünsal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Dinçer Gazzal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Turgay Cevahir made a fantastic save in the 30th minute, when Yağız Dalga sent off a good shot on target. In the 32nd minute Arda Ballı shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Turgay Cevahir saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Turgay Cevahir showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Erdal Özdoğru, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Turgay Cevahir didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Yağız Dalga went, in the 36th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. After 41 played minutes Ceyhan got a freekick which was hit by Asım Sidam. In the 42nd minute, one of Ceyhan:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Ceyhan. 44 minutes into the match, Eyüp Ünsal had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dinçer Gazzal. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Eyüp Ünsal to strike the kick off in the second half. Turgay Cevahir showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from İsrafil Başhekim in the 70th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Eyüp Ünsal got free with Dinçer Gazzal in the 73rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to Menekse getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Baki Secaat hit a great ball. İsrafil Başhekim hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. After 82 played minutes, Menekse's Cabbar Orak shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Dinçer Gazzal came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Menekse reached it. Turgay Cevahir showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bedrettin Özgenalp in the 85th minute of the match. Turgay Cevahir made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arda Ballı in the 90th minute of play. When Eyüp Ünsal came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the Menekse fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eyüp Ünsal couldn't finish the play. If Eyüp Ünsal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Turgay Cevahir showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arda Ballı, who was totally free with the ball in the 97th minute. Chants of Menekse echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Ceyhan had held the ball for most of the match.
