After a rather tough play, Ezine JK's Rafet İlkutay got a free kick in the 17th minute. After 21 minutes, Rafet İlkutay mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ezine JK and the Istanbul players grew even worse after the yellow card. Ahmet Nasir Perva's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 23rdth minute, Vahdet Asker skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Afşin Balbay in the 34th minute of play forced Istanbul's goalkeeper Hüsamettin Akçakoca to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Istanbul getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Orkun Ruhittin hit a great ball. Afşin Balbay scored 2-1 in the 37th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Hüsamettin Akçakoca, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The supporters of Istanbul booed when Ezine JK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tansel Ruhsan didn't get a good kick on the ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Sungur Devrim was the one to do the kick off. Hüsamettin Akçakoca made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sungur Devrim in the 51st minute of play. 53 minutes into the match, Istanbul's goal looked a bit too open when Sungur Devrim came free, but Hüsamettin Akçakoca reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ezine JK's Sungur Devrim got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 68th match minute, Ezine JK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rafet İlkutay to maneuver through the defense. Vahdet Asker stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of İzzet Soner's shot from short distance in the 70th minute. In the 72nd minute İzzet Soner shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vahdet Asker saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Afşin Balbay in the 76thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Hüsamettin Akçakoca, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 77th match minute, Istanbul was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Süleyman Gülen to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Ezine JK's zone, Ahmet Nasir Perva stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vahdet Asker came out of the goal and Ahmet Nasir Perva tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 85 minutes into the match, Ezine JK's Afşin Balbay sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Hüsamettin Akçakoca narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Afşar Orun's late challenge caught a Istanbul's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Afşar Orun helped the player get up and apologised. In the 89th match minute, Ezine JK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Afşar Orun to maneuver through the defense. Ahmet Nasir Perva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vahdet Asker having to interfere. Istanbul's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
