Karakuvvetleri's Teofilo Liberto proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 6th minute of the match, managed to save Karakuvvetleri from getting a goal against them. 7 minutes into the match, Karakuvvetleri's goalkeeper Teofilo Liberto had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by İskender Sidal. When Karim Benzema came up free with the goalie in the 13th minute, the Karakuvvetleri fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Karim Benzema couldn't finish the play. Polat Garipbaş hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Karakuvvetleri's Teofilo Liberto got control of the ball when İskender Sidal tried to sneak it across the goal line. Mahsun Kutun made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Karim Benzema in the 25th minute of play. If Karim Benzema had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 38 minutes, Karim Benzema managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Karakuvvetleri's supporters crossed their fingers, but Karim Benzema was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 42nd minute, Bhagwan Schreer got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Karim Benzema sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 45 played minutes Karakuvvetleri got a freekick which was hit by Savaş Haymanalı. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Abdurrezzak Sulhi stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Bhagwan Schreer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mahsun Kutun having to interfere. Halit Eraslan kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. Teofilo Liberto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abdurrezzak Sulhi in the 66th minute of play. The supporters of Karakuvvetleri booed when Galatasaray SK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Önder Özdemir didn't get a good kick on the ball. 73 minutes into the match, Mustafa Ali Saraç sent off a long shot that looked like it was going straight into the goal, but because Mahsun Kutun threw himself in his full length he managed to grip the ball by the left post, and there was no goal for Mustafa Ali Saraç this time. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bhagwan Schreer in the 84th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mahsun Kutun saved Galatasaray SK from getting behind. Mustafa Ali Saraç hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. In the 94th minute of the match Önder Özdemir sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Teofilo Liberto skillfully saved the ball. The Galatasaray SK supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Karakuvvetleri's performance. The match ended with a win for Karakuvvetleri.
