In the 5th minute Atilla Özgener shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sancarbey Çavas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, HORTUMM's Göksel Resul got a free kick in the 5th minute. 6 minutes into the match, Atilla Özgener notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of HORTUMM's Sancarbey Çavas. Sancarbey Çavas was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The audience was convinced that Atilla Özgener's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sancarbey Çavas was relentless in the 12th minute of the game. Atilla Özgener struck a weak shot in the 16th minute. Sancarbey Çavas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Dörtyol. 17 minutes into the game, Göksel Resul was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. HORTUMM's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Dörtyol the free kick. A collision led to HORTUMM getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Göksel Resul hit a great ball. Atilla Özgener took the ball and in the 20 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sancarbey Çavas. Sancarbey Çavas dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Atilla Özgener sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Atilla Özgener in the 31st minute of play forced HORTUMM's goalkeeper Sancarbey Çavas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 37th minute, Rahman Kudsi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 40th minute of the match Dörtyol got a corner. HORTUMM's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Cesur Kırca ran over to the corner to take the kick. Barış Baykara was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Rıdvan Kurumer kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. Özen Barçın recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Özen Barçın managed to get in a good position for a shot. Dörtyol's supporters rose to their feet, but Özen Barçın was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sancarbey Çavas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Dörtyol's Doğuş Hatırlı played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cem Ergüden in the 53rd minute of play. Özen Barçın sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 65 played minutes Dörtyol got a freekick which was hit by Abuzer Hekimhanlı. Özen Barçın sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cem Ergüden fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Doğuş Hatırlı having to interfere. Atilla Özgener struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Sancarbey Çavas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Dörtyol. Özen Barçın could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 80th minute of the match, but Sancarbey Çavas made a huge save. After a defensive mix-up in HORTUMM's zone, Özen Barçın stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sancarbey Çavas came out of the goal and Özen Barçın tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 89 minutes into the match, HORTUMM's goalkeeper Sancarbey Çavas had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Atilla Özgener. Cem Ergüden struck a weak shot in the 97th minute. Doğuş Hatırlı didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for HORTUMM. When the match was over Dörtyol could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than HORTUMM throughout the match.
