Fikret İftihar didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Erdoğan Yarlık went, in the 7th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Fikret İftihar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Erdoğan Yarlık in the 11th minute of the match. Ensar Müjdat kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. After 13 played minutes, Istanbulspor JK's İlkan Tuğser shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Sait Özdilmaç came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Istanbulspor JK reached it. Veysel Uçma received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Fikret İftihar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Saltuk Pekdeger hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Erdoğan Yarlık sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee showed Saltuk Pekdeger the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 30 played minutes Istanbulspor JK got a freekick which was hit by Saltuk Pekdeger. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Veysel Uçma made a kick off. After having played for 52 minutes, Erdoğan Yarlık managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sahilevleri's supporters crossed their fingers, but Erdoğan Yarlık was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 53rd minute, Saltuk Pekdeger hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Istanbulspor JK booed when Sahilevleri was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gencalp Toker didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Erdoğan Yarlık in the 61st minute of play forced Istanbulspor JK's goalkeeper Fikret İftihar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Istanbulspor JK booed when Sahilevleri was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Evren Ziya didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fikret İftihar came out of the goal in the 73rd minute to try and stop a shot by Sahilevleri's Veysel Uçma. But to his dismay, Veysel Uçma quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. Fikret İftihar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Erdoğan Yarlık, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Istanbulspor JK's Saltuk Pekdeger got a free kick in the 80th minute. Saltuk Pekdeger was shown his second yellow card after 84 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 85th minute, Saltuk Pekdeger hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 86 minutes, Erdoğan Yarlık managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. After 91 minutes, Sümer Temel mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Istanbulspor JK and the Sahilevleri players grew even worse after the yellow card.
