The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ersin Cengaver scored 1-0 in the 5th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ergincan Özdamar, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Fenerbahçe's Ergincan Özdamar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ersin Cengaver in the 9th minute of play. Ahmet Hasan Yabgu kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. In the 18th minute Orhan Veli Balaban shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Erhun Okseven saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Çorum gençlik spor's Yüce Salikbey got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ergincan Özdamar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ersin Cengaver in the 28th minute of play. In the 29th minute, Ahmet Hasan Yabgu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Orhan Veli Balaban sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ahmet Hasan Yabgu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Erhun Okseven tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ersin Cengaver to make the kick off. Çorum gençlik spor's Erhun Okseven proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 51st minute of the match, managed to save Çorum gençlik spor from getting a goal against them. After 52 played minutes Çorum gençlik spor got a freekick which was hit by Birkan Özgan. Erhun Okseven made an important save on a dangerous shot by Orhan Veli Balaban in the 53rd minute. Yüce Salikbey kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. Ergincan Özdamar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gazi Özarı in the 61st minute of the match. In the 61st minute, Orhan Veli Balaban hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the Fenerbahçe defense, Gazi Özarı kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ergincan Özdamar. The Fenerbahçe fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ergincan Özdamar should have stopped the shot. When Çorum gençlik spor's Ersin Cengaver in the 69th minute got a chance for a shot 69th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Ahmet Hasan Yabgu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Many of Fenerbahçe's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Fenerbahçe may have spent more time on the ball, but Çorum gençlik spor were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
