After 15 minutes, Pekin Sunguralp mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Güney SK and the MeRGeN G.d. players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 19th minute Fikri Mengüç shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Uluç Selman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 26 minutes into the game, Güney SK's İsmail Cem Koyas nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ahmet Necdet Özyurt made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 43rd minute, Seyhan Günay hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ahmet Necdet Özyurt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from İsmail Cem Koyas, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. Güney SK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave MeRGeN G.d. the free kick. Güney SK's supporters crossed their fingers, but İsmail Cem Koyas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Berkan Birsel during the 71st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. When İsmail Cem Koyas came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the Güney SK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that İsmail Cem Koyas couldn't finish the play. Ahmet Necdet Özyurt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Celil Kirmanşah, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
